Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is based on the concept that your thoughts, feelings, physical sensations and behaviour are all connected and impact on each other. Negative thoughts, behaviours, and feelings can trap you in a negative cycle, which impacts negatively on your mood andthe way you feel about yourself and everyone else.

During therapy, we address certain patterns of thinking and certain patterns of behavior to break those cycles and subsequently improve mood. This is what a basic CBT model looks like.
Certain presenting problems, have their own evidence based treatments, but this model is always helpful as an anchor to your therapy. It is helpful to consider how your problems may fit into this cycle.
