Hello,
I am Alyson Lazoryk, founder of Lazoryk Psychotherapies. I offer evidence-based CBT and EMDR treatments for individuals aged 16 +, treatment is always tailored to your individual needs. I have full BABCP accreditation and over 10 years experience of delivering treatment therapies within the NHS. My goal is to help you overcome your challenges and improve your mental health and well-being. I believe that everyone deserves to live a fulfilling life, and I am here to support you on your journey.

I suppose now is a good time to give you a brief overview of my experience and training to date. Following my undergraduate degree, I worked as a key worker for a fostering agency, i covered the community placements and was also based in a residential home for older boys with challenging behavior and mental health issues. Whilst I loved my job, colleagues and the young adults I worked with, I decided I wanted to have the tools to offer more help and support.
I decided to apply for the PGCert in Advanced Practice Interventions for Mental Health Care at the University of Manchester. I was offered a place on the course which seemed unbelievable at the time, as places across the country were extremely limited. I studied at the University of Manchester and qualified as a Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner in 2013. I worked within a NHS Psychological Therapy Service for the next 4 years continuing to improve my knowledge, develop skills, supervise colleagues and help develop group interventions.

In 2016 I applied to the University of Chester to undertake the CBT High Intensity PGDip, the University course is well renowned for its prestige level of training which is held in very high regard across the country. I secured my place, and it was here that I really began to understand the theoretical underpinnings which inform the evidenced based protocols prescribed and utilised within CBT. As I continued to link the theory to practice, I found that my knowledge and passion grew even further.

I continued work within the NHS commissioned service as a full time therapist and continued to apply effective treatment for mental health disorders that presented. Due to my interest in continued learning and development, I have also trained in applied CBT in the Context of Long Term and Persistent and Distressing Health Conditions, this training was completed with the University of Manchester. The training looks at specific adaptations and treatment plans for those who have a long term health condition which may be impacting on their mood, this could include diabetes, arthritis, fibromyalgia, functional neurological disorders etc.
I have also undertaken additional Trauma training with OxCADAT as well as completing the IAPT High Intensity Clinical Supervision Training, this has enabled me to effectively supervise other therapists both one to one and in a group format for a number of years. I am also fully trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and also offer this as a treatment.

I now work as the Clinical Lead for an NHS Therapy Service where I oversee the clinical operations and integrity of the service, I also provide training, supervision and ensure clinical compliance to NICE guidelines, ensuring that all of our therapists are working to best practice and delivering effective treatment for mental health disorders.

I am fully accredited with the BABCP and maintain my accreditation through submitting annual portfolios which evidence compliance to the BABCP standards, and codes of practice.
